We have been waiting for this event to make it to actuality for some time! Berlin, owner of Premium 304 Detail in the panhandle of West Virginia, has been planning and hosting a cars and coffee event with The Black Dog Coffee Company. The events I was able to attend last year had me very excited to get 2020 kicked off! When our schedule planning began, we had April 26th locked in on the calendar for a cruise up Skyline Drive starting in Shenandoah Junction, WV at BDCC's wonderful shop! Stop in for some tasty goodness, you wont be disappointed...unless you hate coffee. Still, go! The COVID environment had the team postponing as directed to abide by guidelines and working through all the hurdles required...for 3 extra months. I believe everybody was ready to get out and enjoy the great weather July had to offer! We wanted to sincerely thank Berlin for all his efforts in getting this event going and making sure we were all safe, along with the staff of The Black Dog Coffee Co. It takes and lot of effort without the added stresses of a pandemic.
I started my trip early in Centreville and headed up to West Virginia for an 8:15 iced coffee to offset the heat as best I could. We had returned late on Saturday evening from our trip to IN, so I didn't quite make the 8 am start. The turnout was excellent and the parking lot filled up quick.
A great mix of cars came and went before the cruise started forming at Rally Point 1 around 11 am. The large open parking lot gave us plenty of space get organized and polish a little longer. We relaxed and regrouped for about 40 mins and headed down the road!
We traveled down Route 340 and crossed over the West Virginia Virginia state line around noon and stopped for fuel at the 340 Fuel Depot in Berryville, VA. We had a very large group and some carried on down through Clark County to catch up at Dinosaur Land. The last Rally Point and the last chance for fuel was in Front Royal at the Royal Farms. More shining of cars and gathering of refreshments, catching up with other cruise members just joining in and this was the start!
I was able to post up at the entrance and catch the groups all coming in. Thanks to everyone who made it the whole way. There was no shortage of true car enthusiasts out enjoying their toys. Many smiles for many miles!
